One Familiar Tune
I’ve been addicted to Tagalog songs lately that I’ve been amazed to those new Tagalized songs played in the Philippines. Not that they’re really good but they’re kinda funny. Hearing how they translated those English songs gave me quite a laugh.
I’ve watched an episode of Sharon where they featured some tagalized songs. I’ve heard one back when I was in the Philippines. While on my way home I heard a familiar tune. I was seated at the far end of the jeepney so I can’t hear the song clearly. And when it was already the chorus part, I began to sing in my head but I was shocked (a little lighter than shock, I can’t seem to find a word that would describe it) because I couldn’t actually understand the lyrics. I laughed at it and thought ‘Oh, just one of those jokes.’ It was the Tagalog/Kapampangan version of Sometimes when we touch.
I didn’t really get the chorus part but I can sense that what it meant was ‘I love you.’
I guess I’ll just ask my Kapampangan friend to translate it for me. ‘James, I need your help here.’
More of those Tagalog songs, I’ve heard another version of Beer by Itchyworms. It’s the Beer Lite version. I love this song. I just love the angst and bitterness in it.
